Drocan

languageDraft

Language of the Drocani, spoken in the villages of the Dawn Range and in their prayers at Mount Oruco.

Description

Drocan sounds harsh and deep, with hard consonants and long vowels, and a short catch in the throat that proper names usually mark with an apostrophe, as in Zul’ga. The Drocani speak it among themselves, at home and in the villages of the Dawn Range, such as Ardal and Zul'gar. Drocan is the language of the prayers of the pilgrimage to Mount Oruco, and Drocani names come from it, like that of the dragon Zul'ga.

Outside the range almost no one understands it. Some Drocani have learned Vespertine to deal with the humans of Albar and the cities, and use it with them. Among their own, the human tongue is held to be a matter of trade.
