Firepoint Lighthouse
placeDraft
Stone lighthouse at the tip of a rocky headland, on the southern coast of Cirda.
Description
Firepoint is a spur of dark rock that juts south into the sea. It rises from the long beach where the Almiar Marshes end and the Cirda Desert begins: a strip of pale sand with the odd palm tree, with no harbor and no village. At the tip stands a white stone tower with a red roof. A fire burns at the top every night.
The lighthouse marks the southern coast for ships bound from Marena to Kesh and to the strait of Port Galerna. Without it, the beach and the headland cannot be told apart at night, and the shoals of the delta lie close by.
