Cirda Desert
desertDraft
Desert in the southeast of Cirda, of dunes, rocky mesas and dry riverbeds.
Geography and climate
The desert covers the eastern half of Cirda, in the rain shadow of The Spine. To the north and west it is ringed by the savanna of the Sirta Plains, which dries out until it is lost in the sand. It is a land of ocher sands, rock mesas and riverbeds that carry water only after the rare storms. The Cirda Hills run through it from north to south. At its center, a palm grove surrounds the only known oasis.
