Sirta Plains
regionDraft
Dry savanna between The Spine and the Cirda Desert, in Cirda.
Geography and climate
The plains cover the eastern slope of the range and the north of Cirda, up to the strait that faces Felgrum. It is a land of golden grass, scattered acacias and thorny scrub. The rain stays on the other side of The Spine and reaches here only in the autumn storms. Toward the southeast the grass thins, the sand gains ground and the plains merge into the Cirda Desert.
The streams run dry most of the year. Water is drawn from wells, and the settlements cluster where there is any. To the north, the land whitens into the Ambel Salt Flats.
